After many, many years of saying “I should start painting again” I did. It seems that the time was now. I have always romanticised about painting, listening to music, moving with the brushes and thick coats of paint flying into the perfect place on the canvas but I had forgotten how difficult it was to get what is in my head onto the board. I love detail. So painting (my ability) does not allow me to be as precise as i would like to. This painting has so many coats on it and scratched out lines. It is very rough and a test really. The good thing is I like it, It’s nothing like had in my head, but maybe that’s why. Never the less it will have a home even if it is on the wall in the 3rd room.
Sometimes you find yourself in a place that has so much energy it alters the way you see things. Melissi, Greece. My 94 year old Yiayia (through marriage) lives here, she is the sweetest lady. I have no idea what she is saying and she has even less of an idea what I am blabbering about but I think that makes it even more special. The dog lives next door he also only speaks Greek, so anything I say means nothing to him either. Maybe that is why i find this place so relaxing. I cant speak to anyone, I just watch and listen. There is something so rewarding in that.
QUOTE: “According to greek mythology, humans were originally created with 4 arms, 4 legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.”
